happy 2010

We had a very nice holiday season.  We had some friends over and even had a holiday guest that came before Christmas and left New Year's.  Big Red is his name.  I think that he is a he?  Maybe he's a she?  Anyway, I'm just glad that I didn't overwater him/her!!!!

We had 2 families over for New Year's Eve.  And the neighbors stopped by earlier in the night, so we have to admit that it was a smashing success!  (Normally, everyone bails on us before midnight).  The "S" kids watched the Three Stooges marathon on tv so they were occupied while the grown-ups took over the kitchen and were quite noisy!!

On New Year's, H had cleaned up most of the kitchen and we decided to check out a nearby nature preserve.  We got lost in a very swanky subdivision.  When we got to the preserve we followed the trails and you could really see the landscape and where the trails wandered and intertwined because the leaves have fallen.  It will be so different come spring time when it all gets grown in. They have some old homes that they have brought in that we peeked into.  There was a nice southern home with a great porch.  We thought that it was really funny that they had a silk topiary there.

We took down decorations yesterday and haven't quite gotten them up to the attic.  It does seem a bit bland.  I really need to decide on a color for the walls and get those painted.  Some color would be nice.  Oh well, that is another project to put on the list....

Have a Happy 2010~
PS: isn't it so strange to write 2010??
