We wish we had a photo to share!
We left the house for our evening walk and noticed 3 big, beautiful dogs up the street that were loose and we didn't recognize. They seemed enthralled with something so we figured that we would chance that they would go the other way. As you can guess, they didn't. They were on the other side of the street when they saw us. There were 2 young girls driving who saw them and were concerned they would run in front of them so they just stopped. Khak and Coz were doing well, so we just kept walking. We noticed that all were chained together so you know that they had broken loose from their home. The 3 of them stopped on the other side of the road and looked at us. Oops. Well, they came at us and it was only when they hesitated before they got to us that we both realized that it wouldn't be a full attack. Anyways, Khak jumped and then the sniffing began. Coz looked REALLY small being sniffed by all of them at once.
The girls stopped and rolled their window down. I managed to reach into the mehem and got the phone number from the tag. The passenger called while H was trying to stand on their chain. The dogs were very friendly and wanted to sniff and liked getting pets. Only once did one half heartedly jump on me and I just brushed him aside with no problem and no repeat of the action.
The initial sniffing was done and it looked like play time was in order while the owner was being called. About this time Cozmo decide to be brave...or stupid....and started to yap at them. He didn't seem to have an effect on them, but after the 2nd time, we realized that he could escalate the situation in a bad way. So I brought our 2 back home and went back up to see what I could do. Come to find out, the dogs were from the other side of the development, across from the pool! They had been out awhile!! The girls in the car told us that the dad was on his way to pick them up, so we started walking in that direction. Boy, they were strong! 2 pit bull mixes and a husky! You could tell that they weren't used to walking on leads, just pulling the entire way. Glad that H was there to be pulled instead of me! The father met us and was so appreciative that we brought them. He pointed to his pants which were wet and muddied and said that he had "issues" at home and wasn't focused when it was so quiet!
So that was our good deed for the day. Luckily, they were nice dogs and just excited to be FREE for a bit! On our way home, we saw a lot more neighbors out and about so it was probably good that we took them home before they really got into some trouble.
