On Thursday, we got a new dual fuel heat pump and new 2 stage furnace! YEAH...we don't have to be sweaty anymore!!! Or at least not have an option to be sweaty! As you may have heard, our a/c was on the fritz...or rather just plain didn't work. That was the main unit for the house and the smaller unit for the upstairs just couldn't keep up. So we are taking advantage of the tax credit to get basically, a new furnace that should keep our utility bills much less than just last month!
After having 2 other guys in who didn't know or care enough to get back to us, I discovered an A/C guy in our neighbor's driveway. I stopped for his card and the salesman from that company came out on Monday and by Thursday....Wha La! He stopped by on installation day to make sure that everything was going along great. The crew was actually sub-contracted and they were polite, thorough, and I just can't say enough good things about them.....oh, and they all loved 3 hyper, friendly, barky dogs! (yes, we are dog sitting Bailey!)
Really, measure twice, cut once...yeah, well they measured wrong both times and the first unit didn't fit by a long shot and the second one that they brought in was an 1" too big. So they just took down the stairs to get it up and then put them back up!

Look at that HUGE unit!!!! The one to the right of the guy is the smaller upstairs unit that stayed & the one just behind it to the left is the one that it is replacing!! Is that nuts or what??? At least the big contraption is out front and hides the older looking one!
The Khakster was quite enthralled by the workers and finally I opened the blinds so he could at least watch the proceedings going on outside. I'm surprised that "The Emperor" was not on the couch supervising as well!!We went to the garden today and H is out trimming up the bushes. They have gone just CRAZY since we've done our drastic pruning a month or so ago! Then we'll be off to our dinner party at 715!!!
