Mario Batali is the very best Iron Chef!

What a fun experience! We grabbed some tickets when we learned that the show was coming to Sioux Falls. Next to Car Talk, it is our favorite NPR show. We had 4 tickets and expected to take another couple. After Scott & Linda to agree to go with us, H learned that he had a meeting that would take him out of town that night. It became Girls Night Out! So Linda & I searched and came up with Deb & Suzy to join us. We went to dinner at the new hot spot and then went over to the show. The Orpheum Theatre is one of those old theatres that has been redone very nicely and they usually have fun and eclectic stuff going on there.
We were on about 1/2 way up the balcony...don't you just love my camera??? No flash..zoomed to the max of optical!
Carl Kasell was older than I had hoped! What a voice he has! Peter Sagal was awesome..AND good eye candy!

It is pretty amazing how they get timely guests. FMR Presidential Nominee George McGovern was the special guest. He was witty and had some very good insights into this election. He was a total diplomat in that he did not endorse either candidate.

Mo Rocca, Kyrie O'Connell & Tom Bodett were the panel of "experts". I wish Paula Poundstone would have been there. Kyrie has such a whiny voice.
The entire time that we were there was 2 hrs. That will be edited down to about 45-17 minutes of air time. It was interesting in that after the show was over, the producer told Peter where he needed to repeat things so that it would be better for editing in. Carl only had one time when he had to repeat something. We sat quietly while they did that. Then Peter took some questions from the audience. If you want to call in and be on the show, call the number and leave a msg. They'll get back to you!
And someone asked Mo who the best Iron Chef was. Now you know!
