Our New Year's Eve plans took a different turn than expected. First, upon returning home, we decided to do the Feast of the Seven Fishes for NYE and spend a quite night at home. Upon some research, we realized that we would not make good Catholics!
For those of you who may be asking WHAT?
The Feast is for Christmas Eve!
Oh well. We figured better late than never, so we were going with it!
So we ran to Harry's Market and picked up some things to continue with our feast.
Upon returning home, we pulled into the driveway just as our neighbor was, so we chatted a few minutes. Turned out that they weren't doing anything either, so they invited us over for Oyster Stew!
Well, now, that worked in quite nicely with our seafood theme!
So we took over some smoked salmon, smoked oysters, pickled herring, cheese, crackers, hummus...wine..
And we all had a FEAST!
(Linda is a good MN girl, so she was pretty excited about the pickled herring & smoked oysters!)
Linda's stew recipe is DEVINE! And she also made a beautiful flan. We feasted and visited until almost 2am!
We woke up around 8 and since it was raining and no walk to the park was gonna happen, the Khakster was quite energetic! He insisted that we play with him....so much for that towel!

We had a late breaky, so H finished up the rest of our feast....mussels in a Ina Gartner recipe. We didn't have any "cheap" white wine for the sauce, so we used champagne! And it was oh, so yummy!
So we are expecting a fabulous 2013!
We hope yours is prosperous, filled with good health and lots of love and laughs.
