In a very round about way, we were put in touch with a gentleman who teaches at Berry College in Rome, Ga. He helps to teach animal husbandry to future veterinarians, FDA employees, etc, etc.....
And they have lambs that they raise, learn about and then sell. Well, we're gonna buy one and have it put in our freezer! This is a different kind of lamb....they have hair instead of wool. Go figure. They are smaller than the kind that we normally butcher. Since it was only 2hrs away, we thought that we show up for the fair showing! These lambs were shown several times....here the little kiddies got to show off their lamb handling skills. They were so cute....some of the kids were barely as big as the lambs!
They also had several other animals there: Alpaca
Brama Bulls! Don't think I've ever seen one "in person"....MAN are they BIG!
And these were other bulls....they were very large and stocky!
H mentioned that this was a significantly smaller livestock fair than what he grew up with. But the midway was really big! We refrained from any rides and headed home early. As it was, we didn't get back to the boys til 830....and they were HUNGRY!

No, they aren't pets. The kids who are showing them just met them that day. The lambs are at the college for teaching purposes. But they will be market ready in a few weeks. The lambs were really cute and if I could figure out a way to house train them.......
