Seems like lots has been happening. Was going to post a week or so ago and it just didn't happen. Oh well.
Let's see, I think I've gotten all of my doctoring done for the year: dermatologist, yearly, dentistry, eye doc....that's enough!
All is well on the health front....had to up my cheaters to 1.75! UGH!!! I am trying out a mono-vision multi-view contact lens. Basically, I just wear a contact in my left eye and my right eye does the distance vision without any help. It seems to be going well, altho, if I am not going to be doing any computer work or reading, I won't even use the contact lens. I know, sounds dumb, eh? I agree. But my problem is that the multi-vision works from about 14" from my face to infinity with its correction. Since my distance vision is better than 20/20, it basically is hindering my distance vision. Are you confused yet....yeah, so was I until I put it in and I see what he means. Never the less, I use it on days when I will be doing a lot of stuff in that 14"-5' range. I also got new prescription cheaters, which I didn't even realize that I needed the bump up....but I like the extra "voltage"! And I do wear the cheaters with my contact lens so that I have better vision in that 7"-14" range.
Yeah, I know...it's just crazy.
The gardens seem to be winding down....just a few more tomatoes to pluck and the peppers are doing great, still. The seeds of romaine and spinach and quinoa are doing great as well. The onions haven't shown their little green sprouts yet. Oh well. What's a girl to do?
The dogs are doing great. They just got all of their shots and vaccines updated. I did find a kennel to take them to. We have a few trips coming up that Dakneese won't be able to take them, so I had to find someplace just as reliable as her. I went to 2 spots and one really is the cat's meow! (oops, don't let Khaki hear me type that!) It is a little spendier, but I really got the sense that the dogs get exercised and have lots of attention. They get to have play time and nature walks. So, we will have peace of mind while we are gone.
H is in MN this week. His parents have decided that moving to assisted living will be a better living arrangement than what they currently have. They are looking forward to having friends around and regular meals and we are looking forward to them being safe and cared for. I hope that my parents will know when that will be a good option for them and will let us help them make that transition should the time arise that they need it.
My brew-ha-ha this week was that my phone just died. I went to the community softball game the other nite and came home early. I texted the neighbor to let her know I was home and then my phone quit. I started it up and it went into the reboot recycle from hell. Couldn't get past the little upstart animation....over and over...and over...and OVER!!
Luckily, I had looked a few months ago online at phones and had narrowed it down to 2. (I am my father's daughter....research something til you know them inside and out and then still go from store to store to double check your facts and then, finally, after sleeping on it for days, go and actually buy something! My take on it is that I don't want to make the wrong decision about something that I am going to be stuck with for 2 years...or more.)
I got it this afternoon and have been playing on it. Boy, they've come a long way, haven't they? WOW. They keep getting more and more intuitive. I still have to unlearn a few things from my old phone as it was a different manufacturer...but it has been pretty easy.
I need to spend the next few days working on a few chores around here and then work on some Christmas gifts. I got started but then got waylaid with other things....have to get back on track.....have to get back on track.
Well, that is about all that is going on here. Hope all is well with you.
