A blur....

Well, the last month has been a blur.
2 trips to PA.  The Kelley Reunion was lots of fun.
Watching Charlie for a week was good.  We need to do that more often.
The garden is growing.   We've had our first tomatoes.  So totally DELISH!!   I am liking this heirloom thing!  We have noticed that they don't have the counter life that we are used to with less tasty options.  Ripen---EAT!
About that fast, too.
The mutts are doing well.  They got groomed and are having the normal hot weather slow down that we are all having.  Cozmo turned 5 & Khaki will be 8.  Khaki's hips are getting bad.  We need to start another sort of therapy to go along with the chondrotin shots every 3 weeks.   Need to check into some massage, heat therapy and some Omega3/ glucosamine supplements.   Any suggestions?
The pantry is coming along.  It has been fun restocking it.  The freezer is in there and we need to finish the lighting and the ceiling.  Otherwise, it is about in its finished state.
Let's see, H has been traveling a lot this summer.  He brought on a new salesman and has had some training sessions with him and their contracted help desk.  Then there has been a few shows and some international travel in there as well.   I'm looking forward to him being home some more....hopefully soon.

And, of course, I've been enthralled with the Olympics.
Altho, I wonder:

What it is like to be from Kazakhstan and watch Maiya Maneza
win a gold in weight lifting?  To be from Saudi Arabia and watch the first woman ever from your country to attend the Olympics as an a Judo competitor?  Do you support her or condemn her because that is what your religion tells you to do?  To be from Andorra and watch Monica Ramirez Abella compete in the backstroke and know that she never really has a chance at a medal?    Or to be Tahmina Kohistani, who, from Afghanistan, is ridiculed and attacked for even training to go to the Olympics.  A taxi driver threw her out of his taxi when she told him why she was going to the stadium because women should not be strong and powerful.  Or live in a country where table tennis and badminton are important sports and actually televised?  On a regular basis?  Or from Lithuania that almost beat the new "Dream Team" yesterday in basketball?   And really, when did we allow rich, professional athletes buy their way into the Olympics?  That is such a disappointment in this house.   Subsequent generations will never get to experience the Miracle on Ice.

Oh well.  I watch and wonder.
And marvel at the hard work and dedication of all of the athletes.
